Reflecting on the Year.. Our Annual Letter Home

4 years ago, a rather confused, nervous group of 6 people were sent forth from St Stephens to grow a new church community in the Hythe, to serve it's people in Jesus name and love it as we know it is loved by God: passionately, and with joy.

Every year for the last 4 years we have returned to St Stephen's to update our family there on what we have been up to, what has changed, who has joined us and what has been happening. Like the traditional family Christmas letter, except not at Christmas.

This year is no exception, and after a particularly busy and important year there is much to report and share. We will tell them about the COFFEE give away, which saw 424 cups of hot beverage given away this past winter, the community forums, our first arts event and the transition from weekly worship as a full community to monthly worship, and how we now meet together in cell groups around the Hythe each week to pray together and study the bible together.

And we will also share with them the challenges we now face as we transition to collegiate ministry and leadership and what that means for us as a community, as well as for Nikki, as she starts to step back and hand over more of the responsibility to us. SOURCE was always meant to become a lay led ministry but as we step ever closer to that moment, the responsibility of that is both awesome - and terrifying! We are delving ever more deeply in to what it means to be a community and to be responsible for both a vision and the people we serve.

If you would like to join us on Sunday morning to hear about our year, please come along to St Stephen's Church in Canterbury Road for a 10:15 start

We are pilgrims on a journey
And companions on the road
We are there to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.
